La Posada de Sojo is located on Calle Fernando Colón, in the middle of the Axerquía neighborhood, and barely 800 meters from the Mosque Cathedral. The premises consist of 3 floors with an imposing façade in which the central balcony located on the first floor stands out. Originally, this balcony was located at the entrance of the residence which has been moved to another side following a renovation in the 20th century.

This is a building whose origin, in accordance with its architectural characteristics, can be traced back to the first decades of the 19th century. In its construction, visible in several points after careful restoration, one appreciates the use of mixed stoneworking of alternating patterns of limestone with solid bricks which in turn highlight the use of partitioned arches in the original preserved hollows.

The property has a central courtyard with a beautiful fountain. During the restoration and enhancement of the building, this fountain became the central element of the courtyard.

This courtyard was originally larger than it is today. This fact can be explained by the transformation of the house into an apartment complex most likely around the second half of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century. This led to the construction of two galleries over the courtyard, allowing access to the houses located on the upper floors.

Undoubtedly, this building is a local treasure, rich with history…
